Attendance Target Calculator

Enter the current enrolled days, missed days, attendance goal, and full school-year length. The calculator estimates how many consecutive attended days are needed to reach the goal and shows how additional absences would affect the best possible year-end attendance rate.

Attendance Target Calculator

Estimate how many consecutive school days must be attended to reach a chosen attendance goal and test additional-absence scenarios.

The default 95% is a planning goal. It is not the same as the common 10% chronic-absence reference.

Results are educational calculations, not a legal attendance determination. State, district, and school attendance rules can differ.

Attendance goal vs. chronic absenteeism

The default 95% attendance target is a planning goal, not a universal legal requirement. It is also different from the common chronic-absence reference of missing 10% of enrolled school days. State, district, and school attendance policies can use different rules for interventions, credit, promotion, or truancy.

Year-end scenarios

After calculating, the result includes scenarios for no additional absences and for several possible additional missed-day totals. Each scenario assumes all other remaining school days are attended.

Use the School Absence Calculator for current attendance and absence percentages. Use the Chronic Absenteeism Calculator when excused, unexcused, and other missed days need to be combined.
