When reporting a problem with a page, statistic, attendance rule, calculator, or other information, include enough detail to identify the issue. For data or policy corrections, naming the state, district, school year, or relevant public source can help the request be reviewed more efficiently.

Corrections and data updates

School attendance laws, district policies, definitions, and chronic absenteeism data can change. Corrections or updated source information are welcome when a page appears to contain outdated or inaccurate material.

Submissions are reviewed for relevance and reliability. Sending a correction does not guarantee that a requested change will be published.

Student and family privacy

Do not send student names, identification numbers, educational records, medical records, Social Security numbers, passwords, or other sensitive personal information.

Absenteeism.org does not need access to a student’s private record to answer general questions about information presented on the website.

Individual attendance cases

Absenteeism.org cannot make official determinations about a student’s attendance record, truancy status, excused absences, course credit, promotion, graduation eligibility, or compliance with a particular school policy.

Questions about an individual student’s official record should be directed to the student’s school or school district.

Response times

Email is reviewed as availability permits. A response is not guaranteed for every message, particularly unsolicited marketing, automated submissions, link requests, or messages unrelated to the website.

Business and media inquiries

Relevant media, research, data, accessibility, copyright, and business inquiries may also be sent to support@absenteeism.org.
